With students from 9 provinces and 32 municipalities and administrative regions across China, Boarding at DHSZ provides safe and homely accommodation for over 70% of our students. We have three boarding houses on and off-campus with modern comfortable rooms that sleep 2-4 students. Each floor is supervised by a mixture of expatriate and Chinese boarding staff who live full-time in boarding. The Head of Boarding and House Parents have apartments within boarding and ensure that students are adequately supervised and cared for. There is also a daytime medical center on-campus.  

We have a mixture of weekly boarders who go home at the weekend, and termly boarders who live further from school and go home during the holidays. There is a weekend activity programme for our termly boarders comprising trips in an out of Suzhou throughout the year. There are two hours of supervised study time each evening, Sunday to Thursday, and this provides students the opportunity to complete homework and prepare for classes in a quiet, distraction free environment. We regularly collect feedback from our boarders and they consistently report high satisfaction with boarding scores and tend to do better academically than our day students.
